Abstract:
This study addresses the topic of food allergy in childhood, highlighting its relevance in the context of child health and nutrition. The research problem focuses on understanding the aspects discussed in the scientific literature regarding this condition, considering its causes, clinical manifestations, and implications for nutritional care. Thus, the general objective is to discuss the main elements related to childhood food allergy based on recent scientific production. This is a qualitative and descriptive research, developed through a literature review, with data collected from databases such as SciELO and Google Scholar, encompassing studies published between 2021 and 2026. The results show that food allergy in childhood is a multifactorial condition, characterized by specific immunological responses and varied clinical manifestations, which can impact the child’s development and nutritional status. Furthermore, it is highlighted that adequate nutritional management, based on planned exclusion diets and specialized monitoring, is essential to ensure food security and healthy growth. It is concluded that the scientific literature recognizes the complexity of childhood food allergy, reinforcing the need for integrated approaches that consider biological, nutritional, and contextual factors, contributing to the expansion of knowledge and the strengthening of academic discussions in the area.
